Grand Canal Blockade, Venice

On one of my visits to Venice in the early part of the 2000's fishermen from the Venice Lagoon gathered at the bottom end of the Grand Canal and blocked it for a few hours, causing major disruption and spraying gondoliers with water. This was a dispute about catches and pricing. I don't know the outcome but it looked impressive next to the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute.
