About the Photographer

John Stirling is a Landscape/Travel Photographer who believes that a 'moment in time' is still what the photograph is all about. That means producing images that include 'what was there at the time' such as overhead cables, pylons, people, vehicles etc.

Many of his photographs are taken using long focal length lenses rather than wide angle because he has always liked the impact that these give to his photographs, particularly with buildings.

He uses post processing to enhance his images in simple ways, such as adjusting perspective, horizontal positioning and cropping to give the best possible outcome and quality to his images.

Over time, he has used a variety of different 35mm film and digital SLR cameras; starting off with second-hand Zenith and Olympus models, and ending up currently with Canon EOS 5D MKII and Canon 20D cameras. These are used with Canon EF 70-200 f2.8L IS II USM and Canon 28-200 USM lenses. John uses Adobe Photoshop for post processing.
